Statement of Purpose
Audience: The audience is everybody who lives with other people and encounters issues with privacy. The main audience however is teens because they seem to have the most privacy issues when living at home with parents and siblings.

Context: People who read this are most likely upset over their privacy being invaded by the people that they live with.

Purpose: I want to teach people, mostly teens because they seem to be the ones who have the most difficulties with privacy, how to prevent their privacy from being invaded. I want to help those who are frustrated with the people they live with due to the lack of respect they receive for their personal space.

Statement of purpose: I want people to be able to live with one another without having to deal their privacy being invaded. I don’t want people to have to fight with each other because of privacy issues. I want to help people set up privacy guidelines in which they can all live by and be happy.
Design Plan
I would like to teach people, especially teenagers, how to live with one another without invading each other’s privacy. When living with others privacy becomes something that is not always respected and because of this people become upset with those that they are living with. I would like to teach people how to respect other’s privacy so they can live in peace.
For this plan my focus is to set up instructions for helping people, especially teenagers, on how to avoid having their privacy invaded by others. I will be making a booklet with step by step instructions on how to keep your thing private. I will make picture that go along with each instruction so that they will be easier to follow, and make it more interesting to read.

I like your topic! (I did the same one) it was very well written and layed out. its interesting to see the differences and similarities in our statement of purpose. the only critique I can think of is maybe use a little more detail.

I agree with Brooke, I would like to see more detail and more informaton especially about your audience and medium. Great start though.

context-add more about their emotions...they will be stressed, frustrated. and tell where they will be when they read your instruction set. will they be in a classroom? the comfort of their own room? etc...

Melissa,

There is a lot of repetition in this response. You keep saying the same thing--that you want to help teens whose privacy is being invaded.

I would like more specific writing. Give me a sense of the physical context-- are your teen audience members going to read this online, get copies from advisors in a school or are they going to get the advice in a school newspaper? What is the emotional context? Are they feeling angry, frustrated or just annoyed? Will the advice you give require parents and siblings to read it and cooperate?

I also want to know more about the details of the product, and why you propose turning it into a booklet, and why you want to use images. Why does it have to be a booklet? Why do the instructions need images to make them easy to follow? (Are you going to lay out a blueprint of a typical room and show places where things could be hidden?)
